Nicki Minaj once was fired for chasing a customer who took her pen. The "Anaconda" hitmaker shares the story in an interview published in the latest edition of GQ which also features her talking about her music video and toned down looks among others.
The raptress, who grew up in humble background, said she was working in Red Lobster as a waitress when she noticed a couple took her pen. She chased them up to the parking lot, flashed her middle finger and was subsequently fired. When asked if it was a special pen, Minaj replied, "No. It was the principle."
Minaj once also worked as a customer-service rep. "I like dealing with people, but I don't really like a lot of bulls**t, so maybe customer service wasn't the best job for me," she said of the experience.
The star, who grew up in Queens, now has found success. She is now gearing up to release her latest set "The Pinkprint" which will hit the stores later this month. The album features a track called "Anaconda" which video clip garnered 19.6 million views on Vevo in one day.
Minaj, however, refuses to discuss the sexy theme in the video. "I don't know what there is to really talk about... I think the video is about what girls do. Girls love being with other girls, and when you go back to us being younger, we would have slumber parties and we'd be dancing with our friends," she says.
"She is just talking about two guys that she dated in the past and what they're good at and what they bought her and what they said to her. It's just cheeky, like a funny story," she adds of her character in the video.
