Jason Aldean Scores Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 With 'Old Boots, New Dirt'

The album opens with 278,000, the third-largest opening sales week this year behind Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories' and Eric Church's 'The Outsiders'.

AceShowbiz - Jason Aldean's "Old Boots, New Dirt" has made its way out to No. 1 on this week's Billboard 200. Nielsen SoundScan reports the record tops the chart with 278,000 copies sold, the third-largest opening sales week this year behind Coldplay's "Ghost Stories" (383,000) and Eric Church's "The Outsiders" (288,000).

"Old Boot, New Dirt" marks Aldean's second No. 1 album on Billboard 200. The country superstar's previous effort, "Night Train", also opened at the top slot with 409,000 following its release back in 2012.

Miles behind Aldean is Hozier, whose self-titled debut album lands at No. 2 with 58,000. The album is supported by hit "Take Me to the Church" which topped the Adult Alternative Songs chart and reached the top 10 on both Hot Rock Songs and Alternative Songs. Last weekend, Hozier performed the song live when he made his debut on "Saturday Night Live".

Barbra Streisand's "Partners" is spending another week at No. 3 with additional 49,000. Lady GaGa and Tony Bennett's "Cheek to Cheek" is also a non-mover, staying at No. 4 with 37,000. Weezer's "Everything Will Be Alright in the End" comes at No. 5 with 34,000.

At No. 6, Blake Shelton's "Bringing Back the Sunshine" plunges from last week's No. 1 with 34,000. Closing out the top 10 are rocker Stevie Nicks' "24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault" which arrives at No. 7 with 33,000, Alex and Sierra's debut LP "It's About Us" that starts at No. 8 with 27,000, Keyshia Cole's "Point of No Return" that bows at No. 9 with 25,000 and Sam Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" that jumps two rungs to No. 10 with 24,000.
