Taylor Swift joins "The Voice" as the sole mentor of the seventh season. News of the country singer's involvement on the popular singing competition series was first revealed in August but NBC only made it official in an announcement on Friday, October 3.

Swift would be the "key adviser" during the show's Knockout Rounds. According to the press release, Swift will counsel contestants on all of the coaches' teams on "vocal technique, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their personalities and strengths."

Her first appearance would be Monday, October 27, the same day her new album "1989" arrives on shelves. She will make two more appearances on October 28 and November 3 as the Knockout Rounds come to an end.

Chris Martin of Coldplay did a similar job last season, mentoring contestants from all four teams. Kicked off on September 22, the seventh season of "The Voice" features two new judges, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani, who join old players Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
