A fan named Mostafa Kashe has filed a lawsuit against Rod Stewart after he suffered injuries during a performance at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in October 2012. In the court documents filed on Monday, September 22, Mostafa claimed he was injured when one of the autographed soccer balls kicked by Rod struck him in the face and broke his nose.

The California fan wrote on his complaints, "That actions of defendant Rod Stewart were negligent, careless, and/or reckless, and the soccer balls were kicked with sufficient force so as to potentially injure patrons of the concert. Stewart has significant experience in the sport of soccer and experience in kicking soccer balls, having previously tried out for a professional soccer team in the UK and regularly playing in amateur soccer leagues since his youth."

He added, "Stewart either knew or should have known that his actions could cause injury to unsuspecting patrons of his concerts."

Mostafa is also suing Caesar's Palace and concert promoter AEG Live over the incident, saying they "should have been aware of Stewart kicking soccer balls without warning into the crowd as part of his show."

According to his complaint, Mostafa missed work and had to cut short his family vacation in Las Vegas due to the injuries. He continued to suffer lasting mental and physical damage as well as "cosmetic damages." He is claiming for damages of around $10,000 for lost wages, legal fees and cosmetic repairs.

Rod's representative has not commented on the issue.
