The R'n'B singer's new album debuts at No. 3 on Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on Billboard's R'n'B/Hip-Hop Albums chart after selling 70,000 in its first week.

AceShowbiz - Jhene Aiko storms into Billboard charts with her debut album, "Souled Out". Released earlier this month, the set debuted at No. 3 on Billboard 200 last week with 70,000 copies sold and directly topped the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

The LP, which finds Aiko exploring a variety of genres including classic R&B and hip-hop music, receives generally positive reviews from critics. That's a good thing for the singer who stated in many interviews that she worked really hard on it and even delayed it numerous times to make sure she had the right songs.

"Souled Out" has spawned lead single "To Love & Die" that features Cocaine 80s and its follow-up "The Pressure". The latter debuted at No. 25 on Hot R&B Songs and is currently sitting at No. 23.

Unlike her breakthrough "Sail Out (EP)" (2013) that's packed with her collaborations with famous faces like Childish Gambino a.k.a. Donald Glover, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Vince Staples, Aiko's 12-track new LP only has guest appearances from Cocaine 80 and Common.

"I put out 'Sail Out' and it had all the features, just to get that out of the way. I'm not opposed to doing any features, but right now [the album] is just shaping up to be all me," Aiko explained in an interview with Revolt TV.

Another guest featured on the album is Aiko's daughter Namiko. They sing together on "Promises" that Aiko calls one of her favorite songs she's ever written.
