A representative for Duff confirms that the former 'Lizzy McGuire' star is not the woman in the graphic images as the woman does not have 'defining birthmarks or tattoos.'

AceShowbiz - Hilary Duff contacted the FBI after naked photos which are claimed to be hers emerged online. In a statement to media released on Friday, September 5, a representative for the former "Lizzy McGuire" actress confirms that the woman in the explicit images is not Duff.

"FBI has been alerted that these photos are fake," the rep says. The photos are fake because the woman in the photos does not have "defining birthmarks or tattoos." The 26-year-old star has been sporting a tattoo of an anchor on her left ankle, but the woman does not have it. The rep also says that anyone who claims otherwise is "going to meet legal recourse."

Many female celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Kirsten Dunst have fallen victims to hacking and their naked photos were spread on the internet Sunday, August 31. Some people then speculated that there was security breach in iCloud's system, but Apple denied it, saying that the celebrities' account were deliberately targeted.

In the first interview since the nude celebrity photo leak, Apple CEO Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal that the company would send e-mail alerts and push notifications when users tried to change passwords, restored iCloud data to a new device or a device logged into the account for the first time. The tech company is also helping the authorities in the investigation. "We want to do everything we can do to protect our customers, because we are as outraged if not more so than they are," Cook said.
