Carrie Underwood is expecting her first child with her husband, Mike Fisher. The "American Idol" alum took to Instagram and Twitter on Monday, September 1 to announce the happy news by sharing a photo of herself and her dogs.
Carrie captioned the photo with, "In honor of 'Labor' Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier." In the photo, the 31-year-old singer can be seen holding her two dogs, who sport "I'm going to be a big brother" and "I'm going to be a big sister" outfits.
Mike retweeted Carrie's posting and wrote, "We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher."
Carrie's publicist told Fox411 that the "Last Name" singer is due in the spring. A source told Us Weekly, "[Carrie and Mike] couldn't be happier to be starting a family."
Carrie got married to Mike in 2010 after two years of dating. She previously told Self magazine that she wanted to have "two" children, adding, "Three is fine. Four? Somebody's getting something done, because we ain't having five!"
