A man got through the cable network's phone screener, saying 'the plane was shot down by a blast of wind from Howard Stern's ass'.

MSNBC had an embarrassing situation when it let a prankster make crude remarks during its live coverage of Malaysia airlines jet crash. A caller disguised himself as Staff Sgt. Michael Boyd, claiming that he was calling from the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine to report what he witnessed.

A Boeing 777 Malaysia Airline plane was traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was shot down by a missile in Ukraine near the Russian border. Several news outlets quickly made news coverage of the incident with MSNBC's "The Cycle" claiming to have an exclusive phone call.

MSNBC host Krystal Ball asked the so-called military expert of what he knew about the jet crash. "Well, I was looking out the window and I saw a projectile flying through the sky, and it would appear that the plane was shot down by a blast of wind from Howard Stern's ass," the caller said. Ball apparently did not get it quickly and continued questioning him.

"So it would appear that the plane was shot down - can you tell us anything more from your military training of what sort of missile system that may have been coming from?" she asked the man. The prankster said, "Oh you're a dumba**, aren't ya?", before he was cut off.

MSNBC said in a statement to THR, "This was an unfortunate incident and we immediately clarified for our viewers."

It is yet clear whether the man was Captain Jacks aka Thomas Cipriano, Stern's fan who has in the past called to a live TV to pull similar pranks.
