Bruce Springsteen has been covering classic hits by several musicians during his ongoing tour Down Under. When making a stop in Auckland, New Zealand, over the weekend, the Boss excited fans with the cover of a more recent hit.

The veteran entertainer kicked off his show at Mt. Smart Stadium with an acoustic rendition of Lorde's "Royals". He played his harmonica and guitar before singing the lyrics of the song that was named Song of the Year at the Grammys in January.

The performance was amazing. He tweaked the lyrics a bit, singing "you can call me king bee" instead of "queen bee."

"Royals" appears in Lorde's "Pure Heroine", which was released last year and is currently at No. 6 on Billboard 200. The singer's debut album has recently been certified platinum as it has exceeded sales of 1 million in the U.S.

Springsteen has been touring Australia since early February and he has covered songs by of AC/DC and the Bee Gees. The tour was launched to support his latest album, "High Hopes", which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 following its release in January.
