Samuel L. Jackson Up for 'Tarzan', Jason Clarke for 'Terminator 5'

The Nick Fury depicter in Marvel's cinematic universe is circling an unspecified role, while the 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' actor is expected to play John Connor.

AceShowbiz - Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly entering a negotiation to play an unspecified role in Warner Bros.' new take on "Tarzan" directed by "Harry Potter" helmer David Yates. Meanwhile, Jason Clarke is a frontrunner to star as John Connor in "Terminator: Genesis" due July 1, 2015.

If Jackson is signed on, "The Avengers" actor will share screen with Alexander Skarsgard who is tapped as the King of Jungle. Christoph Waltz is in talks as the villain, while Emma Stone and Margot Robbie are rumored being courted as the leading lady.

Arnold Schwarzenegger who is expected to return for the fifth "Terminator" installment helmed by "Thor: The Dark World" helmer Alan Taylor. Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson are the contenders to portray Sarah, while Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch and Nicholas Hoult are reportedly vying to play the young Kyle Reese, who would father John.

Jackson was last seen in "Oldboy" and will next appear in "Reasonable Doubt", "RoboCop" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" among others. Clarke recently starred in "Zero Dark Thirty (2012)" and "The Great Gatsby", and lines up "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" as one of his next projects.
