AceShowbiz - "Guiding Light" star Brittany Snow got mistaken for fellow blonde beauty Britney Spears just before she was set to be honored for her charity work during the Glamour and Investigation Discovery "Inspire a Difference" Awards on Monday night, September 9, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The faux pas was committed by the president of Investigation Discovery who presented the award to the 27-year-old film and TV actress.
Snow was being recognized for her involvement in the "Love is Louder" movement, alongside other honorees, "Bones" star Emily Deschanel and multi-media singer/actress Kristin Chenoweth. The former "American Dreams" lead actress took the mix-up in stride as she introduced herself in jest as the pop superstar during her acceptance speech.
The witty and funny Chenoweth also made light of the embarrassing situation by dishing out a line from Spears' popular track "Oops!...I Did It Again" when it was her turn at the podium, receiving an award for her animal welfare charity "Maddie's Corner" named after her own beloved pet dog Maddie.
Meanwhile, Deschanel was honored for being a staunch supporter of "Five Acres" which seeks to aid abused and neglected children and their families through residential and outreach programs. Investigation Discovery, with advertising support coming from Glamour magazine, and through the "Inspire a Difference" initiative, recognized the honorees to help bolster awareness about victims' rights and healing.
