Willow Smith's Melodic Chaotic Debuts With 'The Intro'

Willow Smith and DJ Fabrega form a new music duo and release the first track from their debut EP.

After the commercial letdown that was her last collaboration with Nicki Minaj entitled "Fireball", Willow Smith is back with a vengeance, joining forces with DJ Fabrega to form the music duo Melodic Chaotic. The pair is now aptly dropping single "The Intro" as the debut release from their forthcoming four-song EP.

Serving as Melodic on the vocals to the DJ's Chaotic on the instrumentals, the 12-year-old Smith is reinventing herself, sounding more mature from her "Whip My Hair" days as a child singer. It's a natural progression she first tried to do when she released "Sugar and Spice" early this year, singing about the struggles of ridicule and dejection.

In her new three-minute-plus long track, Smith sings anew lyrics that are quite grown-up for a young artist in her pre-teens. Yet, she tries her best to make it all sound believable as she croons, "I look at you, you look at me, and we both know it's not a game."

The daughter of superstar couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow has also recorded a song with brother Jaden Smith entitled "Kite" where they sang about being lost and wanting to flying away like a kite, about being sad despite being surrounded by riches and fame. While Jaden has followed in their father's footsteps, dabbling in both acting and rapping, Willow has mostly stuck to making music.
