Hours after telling fans not to believe everything they read or hear, the 'Jersey Shore' star releases an official statement regarding reports that he had entered an inpatient treatment program.

AceShowbiz - Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino finally admits that he is getting treatment for his problem with prescription pills. Less than a day after denying earlier reports that he has checked into rehab, the "Jersey Shore" star made use of his Facebook account to release a statement explaining the real situation.

"I want to set the record straight," the 29-year-old wrote on Wednesday, March 21. "I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion. I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys."

Words that Sorrentino entered an inpatient treatment program first came out via TMZ. Soon thereafter, a representative for the reality star said that he "has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule." Sorrentino himself tweeted, "Don't believe everything you read or hear."
