The actor finally revealed why they decided not to continue with the plan to get married although they have been together for four years and engaged for three months.

The reason Jack Wagner and Heather Locklear decided not to get married is because there were too much trouble. The couple announced their engagement in August this year but the wedding preparation took its toll on both the actors and their respective family.
In a statement to TMZ, Wagner revealed that the pressures of planning the wedding became all-consuming that they had little time to spend with their kids. Wagner has two sons with actress Kristina Wagner while Locklear has a daughter with guitarist Richie Sambora.
Back in February, he said in an interview, "You know, she has a 13-year old daughter, and I have a 16-year old boy and a 20-year old so we're not rushing into anything - we're really focusing on being good parents." Wagner said the idea of blending the family did not turn out well. He reasoned, the kids were too young, so it would be too disruptive.
Despite the split, Wagner said he and Locklear "still love each other very much" and that they still keep in touch.
