The feud between Charlie Sheen and Warner Bros. is finally over. On Monday, September 26, it was officially announced that they have reached a settlement in their legal dispute following the actor's $100 million lawsuit over his firing from "Two and a Half Men".
"Warner Bros. Television, Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen have resolved their dispute to the parties' mutual satisfaction," so it was said in a statement. "The pending lawsuit and arbitration will be dismissed as to all parties. The parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality over the terms of the settlement."
While financial details were not released, sources said Sheen will receive $25 million in initial payment which reportedly primarily covers backend participation owed to him. Moreover, the 46-year-old may keep receiving payments in syndication profits although the amount is not as big as the $100 million he was seeking in the lawsuit for wrongful termination.
The settlement comes exactly a week after "Men" returned for the ninth season to record ratings with Ashton Kutcher as the new lead actor. Meanwhile, Sheen's new sitcom "Anger Management" recently nabbed "The Drew Carey Show" creator Bruce Helford as a writer, executive producer and showrunner.
