Good news for fans of the comedy animation comes at the same time with bad news for the new series starring Will Arnett.

"The Simpsons" hits the big 23. FOX announced that they are renewing the beloved cartoon animation for another season which begins next year. The show is already the longest-running primetime series in U.S. television, surpassing "Gunsmoke" last year with its 21st season.
"Like many 22-year-olds, 'The Simpsons' is extremely happy remaining at home, on Fox, and hopes it doesn't have to go out into the real world for many years to come," said executive producer Al Jean in a statement. The renewal of another season means the total episodes for the series will reach 515.
FOX has also landed a decision for "Running Wilde" which continues to struggle in its rating. Although not officially canceled, the show starring Will Arnett and Keri Russell is benched from the rest of the November sweeps starting next week. Repeats of "Raising Hope" will fill the Tuesday, 9.30/8.30c slot for the next two weeks but "Running Wilde" will return with a new episode on November 30.
"Running Wilde" continues to draw weak rating with this week reaching a new low at just 2.83 million and a 1.3 in the adult demo. For comparison, fellow newbie "Raising Hope" absorbs 5.77 million and 2.5 rating among adults 18-49.
