The beloved animated sitcom announces at D23 convention an exclusive Christmas special and three additional episodes, expanding its streaming presence on Disney+.

AceShowbiz - Prepare for a double dose of holiday cheer and exclusive content from "The Simpsons"! The long-running animated series is gearing up for its 36th season on FOX, but fans will also have access to exciting new episodes streaming exclusively on Disney+.

During the D23 convention, "The Simpsons" creators revealed the release of a two-part Christmas special titled "O Come All Ye Faithful" on December 17. This special coincides with the 35th anniversary of the series' premiere, "Simpsons Roasting Over An Open Fire".

In addition to the Christmas treat, Disney+ will also host two more exclusive episodes entitled "The Past and the Furious" and "Yellow Planet". The streaming service will also premiere a Halloween-themed short this October.

The Simpsons has had a longstanding partnership with Disney+, releasing several exclusive shorts on the platform. However, this marks the first time the series has produced full-length episodes exclusively for the streaming service. This raises questions about the future of the show's relationship with Fox, which is also producing original episodes for Hulu through its animation division, 20th TV Animation.

Along with the exclusive content, Disney+ will also stream all 18 episodes from Season 35 of The Simpsons, starting on October 2nd. This provides viewers with the opportunity to catch up on the latest adventures of the Simpson family.

"The Simpsons" season 36 on FOX will feature collaborations with Stoopid Buddy ("Robot Chicken") for a "Treehouse of Horror" installment inspired by "Venom", as well as a "second scary trilogy" inspired by Ray Bradbury's works. These special events promise both spooky and hilarious moments for fans.

Get ready to celebrate 35 years of "The Simpsons" while enjoying exclusive holiday content, new episodes, and the return of classic favorites on Disney+.
