Despite being shelved back, Nicole Scherzinger's solo studio album "Her Name Is Nicole" will still be released. On when the album will be dropped, the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls says that it "may come more sooner than later."

"I think it'll just come out when it wants to come out, on its own," Nicole tells Billboard. "I'm still working on my album, and I'm very excited. I'm a relentless perfectionist. I get one chance to put out a first (solo) album, so when the right time comes I will put it out."

Explaining the status of the album, Nicole insists that the record "is just in the works and in talks and in the writing process." She says, "I'll be excited to get back with old friends - will.i.am, Timbaland." She also names fellow singer Lady GaGa and Indian musician A.R. Rahman, who composed "Slumdog Millionaire" soundtrack "Jai Ho", as other people she would love to work with.

Nicole Scherzinger has been working on "Her Name Is Nicole" since 2006. She has released several singles, including "Whatever U Like", "Baby Love", "Puakenikeni" and "Supervillain". Meanwhile, several other songs considered for the project have turned up in The Pussycat Dolls' sophomore effort "Doll Domination", which will be re-released under the name of "Doll Domination 2.0".
