Just days before the election, Scherzinger was photographed in a white shirt bearing Harris' first name. Days later, she left a comment on an Instagram post by embattled Russell Brand, who has been accused of sexual misconduct. In the post, Brand wore a "Make Jesus First Again" hat, a play on Trump's campaign slogan. "Where do I get this hat!!!?" she asked, swiftly drawing widespread criticism.

The former Pussycat Dolls member later apologized, denying claim that she supported Trump. "I made the mistake of not realizing that they could be easily interpreted as being politically related and I apologize to anyone who understandably reached that conclusion," she said.
