Diva Mariah Carey made an appearance on MTV's TRL on Wednesday (October 24). Apart from promoting her new fragrance, 'M' by Mariah Carey, she carried with her the reason why she delayed her album from this December to February 2008.

She was quoted as saying, "You can't really put records out in December if you want the whole world to have a chance to actually hear it, my fans all over the world are very important to me"

The singer also reveals that a couple of songs will be released in advance of the album. She just had a "really, really hot" session with somebody "very popular" in Miami.

While there, Mariah compared the process of creating 'M' and recording the not-yet-titled album. "I've been working on this record while I'm working on the fragrance," she said. "I wanted (the fragrance) to be sensual. It's really been like writing a song ... this was almost the same creative process."
