Mark Allan Hoppus is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer best known as the co-founder, bassist, and co-lead vocalist of the massively influential rock band Blink-182. As the only member to appear on every one of the group's albums, his melodic bass lines and distinctive vocal harmonies became a foundational element of pop-punk's mainstream explosion in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His career extends beyond the stage, encompassing successful ventures in production, fashion, and media hosting.

Born in Ridgecrest, California, Hoppus developed an interest in punk rock and skateboarding during his youth. His father gifted him a bass guitar when he was 15, setting him on his musical path. After moving to San Diego to attend California State University San Marcos in 1992, his sister introduced him to guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge. The pair quickly formed Blink-182 with drummer Scott Raynor. The band's relentless touring and independent releases built a dedicated following, leading to their major-label sophomore album, 1997's Dude Ranch. The album featured the Hoppus-penned single "Dammit," which became a breakout hit on modern rock radio.

The band's trajectory changed dramatically with the arrival of drummer Travis Barker, who replaced Raynor. Their next album, 1999's Enema of the State, propelled them to multi-platinum, worldwide fame with anthems like "All the Small Things" and "What's My Age Again?" Hoppus's songwriting and vocals were central to their subsequent success on albums like Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) and their more experimental, self-titled 2003 record. Following the band's initial breakup in 2005, Hoppus and Barker formed the rock band +44. Blink-182 reunited in 2009 and has continued to record and tour globally, releasing albums including Neighborhoods (2011), California (2016), and Nine (2019).

Parallel to his work with Blink-182, Hoppus established himself as a respected record producer, working with acts like New Found Glory, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Matches. He co-owned the clothing companies Atticus and Macbeth Footwear before launching his own line, Hi My Name is Mark, in 2012. His media ventures include hosting the long-running Hi My Name Is Mark podcast and the television talk show Hoppus on Music on Fuse. From 2019 to 2020, he explored a different sonic direction as one-half of the pop-rock duo Simple Creatures with Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low. Hoppus married Skye Everly in December 2000, and they have one son together.
