AceShowbiz - Blink-182 have called off their upcoming concerts in Kansas City and St. Louis "due to illness." The band announced the news on social media on August 8 without specifying who was affected. Ticket holders who purchased through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds.
The cancellations come amidst Blink-182's ongoing U.S. tour, which is now scheduled to continue on August 12 in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena. The band performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago last weekend and will headline Reading & Leeds festival in the UK later this month.
Despite the setback, the band's classic lineup, reunited in 2022, remains optimistic. In a recent interview, drummer Travis Barker said, "We're all healthy and we're excited to be back on the road."
However, some fans have speculated that frontman Tom DeLonge may have been feeling unwell at the band's last show before the cancellations. According to a Blink-182 fan account on Twitter, DeLonge reportedly "cut" the set short due to illness.
Back in March this year, the lead vocalist suffered from heat stroke while on stage in Paraguay. "Fell to my knees, everything went blurry, then wobbled to the side of the stage and vomited for a bit," he wrote on Instagram.
DeLonge's bandmates, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, quickly stepped in to cover for him. Barker performed a drum solo to fill the time while DeLonge recovered before the singer returned to resume their show following a brief break.
Despite the setback, Blink-182's tour is expected to continue as planned, with remaining dates scheduled in Detroit, Columbus, and Toronto. VIP packages are available for purchase.
