Emerging from the vibrant post-hardcore scene of the early 2000s, From First To Last established themselves as a pivotal force in the genre, blending aggressive instrumentation with melodic sensibilities and deeply personal lyricism. Formed in Orlando, Florida in 2002, the band's initial lineup featured guitarist Matt Good, bassist Jon Weisberg, and drummer Scott Oord. They quickly solidified their sound and began building a dedicated following through relentless touring and a dynamic stage presence.

The band's debut album, "Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount," released in 2004, became their seminal work and catapulted them to wider recognition. The record's raw energy, catchy hooks, and themes of adolescent turmoil resonated powerfully with a generation, solidifying their claim to fame. Notably, the album featured the vocal talents of a young Sonny Moore, who would later achieve global superstardom under the name Skrillex. His distinctive screaming and singing became a defining characteristic of the band's early sound. Following extensive touring in support of "Dear Diary," Moore departed the band in 2006 to pursue his solo electronic projects.

Undeterred, From First To Last persevered with Matt Good taking over lead vocal duties. They released their self-titled third album in 2008, showcasing a more refined and experimental direction. However, after a period of touring and lineup changes, the band entered a hiatus in 2010. The break proved to be temporary, as From First To Last re-emerged in 2013, reuniting with Sonny Moore for a series of shows that delighted longtime fans. This reunion, however, was not permanent for Moore's involvement.

The band continued with Matt Good as frontman, releasing the album "Dead Trees" in 2015, which marked a return to their heavier roots. From First To Last has maintained activity through subsequent years, navigating further lineup evolutions while continuing to release new music, including the 2023 single "Surrender." Their legacy endures as that of a foundational act in the 2000s post-hardcore movement, whose influential early work continues to inspire new waves of artists within the rock and alternative scenes.
