Enur emerged as a Danish electronic music duo best known for delivering one of the most infectious and globally recognized dance anthems of the late 2000s. Operating also under the moniker Artificial Funk, the group consisted of brothers Rune and Johannes Røhmer, who crafted a unique blend of electronica, dancehall, and pop that briefly catapulted them to international fame. While their time in the spotlight was concentrated, their signature hit left an indelible mark on the global dance music scene.

The duo's breakthrough arrived in 2008 with the single "Calabria 2008," a revamped version of a 2005 track by Rune RK featuring singer Natasha. The song, built around a now-iconic saxophone riff sampled from Rune RK's earlier work, became a viral and commercial phenomenon. It achieved platinum status in multiple countries, topped dance charts worldwide, and infiltrated mainstream pop culture, being featured in films, television shows, and countless sporting events. The track's success was bolstered by its prominent feature of Jamaican dancehall artist Mr. Vegas, whose vocals added a distinctive crossover appeal.

Capitalizing on the massive success of "Calabria 2008," Enur released their debut and only studio album, "Raggatronic," later in 2008. The album further explored their fusion of ragga and electronic sounds, featuring collaborations with artists like Baby Cham and Spider Loc. While it produced follow-up singles such as "Touch Me" and "I'm a Drum Machine," none managed to replicate the unprecedented global impact of their initial smash hit. The group's sound, however, demonstrated a forward-thinking approach to genre blending that resonated within the electronic music community.

Following the album cycle, Enur's activity as a duo significantly diminished. The brothers, particularly Rune RK, who had an established career as a DJ and producer prior to Enur, returned their focus to individual projects within the Danish and international music industry. Despite their relatively brief period of major commercial activity, Enur remains a definitive act of its era. "Calabria 2008" endures as a staple in DJ sets and party playlists, a testament to the duo's ability to create a timeless, floor-filling track that continues to evoke recognition and energy across generations of music listeners.
