Ally Brooke Biography

news-detailsAlly Brooke emerged as a prominent voice in contemporary pop music, first capturing international attention as a founding member of the chart-topping girl group Fifth Harmony. Born Allyson Brooke Hernandez on July 7, 1993, in San Antonio, Texas, she was raised in a musical family by her parents, Jerry Hernandez and Patricia Castillo, and began performing at a young age in church and local talent shows. Her big break arrived in 2012 when she auditioned as a solo artist for the second season of the American version of The X Factor. Although she was eliminated as a solo performer, judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, and Demetria Lovato strategically brought her back to form a new group with four other contestants, creating the phenomenon that would become Fifth Harmony.

As part of Fifth Harmony, Brooke achieved monumental success, with the group releasing hit albums like Reflection and 7/27, and global singles such as "Worth It" and "Work from Home." The group earned numerous awards, including several MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Women in Music's Group of the Year honor in 2016. During her tenure with the group, Brooke also began exploring solo collaborations, featuring on the 2017 Lost Kings single "Look at Us Now" with rapper ASAP Ferg and releasing "Perfect" with DJ Topic. Following Fifth Harmony's indefinite hiatus in 2018, Brooke officially launched her solo career, signing a record deal with Atlantic Records.

Her major label debut came with the 2019 single "Low Key" featuring Tyga. That same year, she showcased her versatility by competing on season 28 of Dancing with the Stars, where she and her professional partner Sasha Farber finished in third place. In 2020, she released her memoir, Finding Your Harmony, and embarked on her first headlining tour, the Time To Shine Tour, which was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following a series of collaborations and a brief foray into Latin music with songs like "Vámonos" with Kris Kross Amsterdam and Messiah, Brooke departed Atlantic Records.

In 2023, Ally Brooke began a new chapter, signing with Snafu Records. She released the single "Gone to Bed" in September, followed by her first holiday project, the EP Under the Tree, on December 1. This release marked her debut extended play and showcased her continued evolution as a recording artist, embracing both her pop roots and new musical directions as an independent performer.
