Producers Guild of America has unveiled its list of nominees for the 2010 batch. Noticeable from the line-up this year is the fact that cable channels are triumphing over major networks by 70 percent, showing the growth in making good shows for cable channels.

"" becomes the subject of parody for PBS' "Sesame Street" and the characters have been translated into muppet forms. Presented by EMC instead of AMC, the skit sees Don Draper holding a meeting for a honey ad with two of his execs.

Through the ads, the program designed for children wants to show how feelings of "mad", "sad" and "happy" look like. Without leaving a little easter egg for adults to laugh at, Draper praised his agents after finding the right ad by saying, "Good job, sycophants!".

'Mad Men' Gets Its Fourth Year

"" is only three episodes into the third season but AMC has so much faith in the drama that it puts down an order for fourth season. The cable announced the decision on Tuesday, September 1 but did not specify how many episodes will be in the new season and when it will go on air.

The renewal may as well be based on the fact that it debuted the third season to a better number of audience. Compared to last year's 1.5 million, it has taken a significant raise to 2.8 million viewers in August 2009. Meanwhile, the average for the first three episodes of this season is 2.1 million viewers, a 40% increase from the same period last year.

'Mad Men' Gets a Parody From 'Sesame Street'

During the Television Critics Association tour, PBS' executive vice president announced that "Sesame Street" will pick on "". On the panel held Saturday, August 1, Miranda Barry announced that "Sesame" will parody the AMC drama for the muppet show's 40th anniversary.

"You may have seen our parody called 'Desperate Houseplants'," Barry explained on how they would translate the drug, sex and booze-filled show to a program for children. "It was about a houseplant not getting its needs met by the gardener. So it always works on two levels."

The new season will pick up where season 2 left off with Betty being pregnant with Don's baby despite her one-night affair with a random gentleman. In the "Drama" clip, the couple is struggling with being faithful and truthful to each other while in "Action", Don catches her in the act with Roger.

Aimed for an early Fall shot, "" season 3 has finally got a fixed premiere date, August 16. Airing at 10/9c, the premiere episode will be presented with limited commercial interruptions and preceded by season 2 marathon on August 10 which starts at 7 A.M. and ends at 8 P.M. EST.

It is not the only good news coming from the critically-acclaimed series because a deal has been reached between AMC and creator Matthew Weiner regarding the running time. Instead of cutting short each episode for commercial breaks as has been suggested previously, they have anticipated it by adding extra minutes in each episode which will make the show running a little over an hour. "It's wonderful to have partners who can respond to both a business and creative challenge in such a satisfying way," Weiner told Daily Variety.

Along with the season 2 finale of "" on Sunday, May 31 night, came a promo for the third season of "". The countdown has officially begun on the AMC acclaimed series which is scheduled for premiere this August, most probably late in the month.

The second season ended with 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis where the Sterling Cooper ad men were fearing to lose their jobs amid the nuclear war. Since the story line reflects many actual happenings in the real world, there is a chance that the third season will jump two years ahead to 1964. Creator Matthew Weiner said that he did not want to explore the John F. Kennedy assassination that occurred in 1963.

AMC takes a step toward anticipating the economy crisis by trimming the lauded Emmy Award-winning series, taking two minutes off each episode to give room for ads.

The cable network, according to Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood, has told Lionsgate TV to bring a shorter version of the series to the table so that it can add commercial break each hour. While it may appear as a small matter, Finke pointed out that it's still "galling given how well the show has done, how carefully it's put together, and how much money it's already making AMC and parent company Cablevision."

Third Season of 'Mad Men' Delayed Until August

Fans anxiously waiting for the immediate return of "" will have to swallow their hope. The third season has been set to bow in August instead of the usual mid-July starter, AMC has announced. No particular date is given though.

The delay is somewhat predictable for when the second season wrapped up in October last year, series creator Matthew Weiner had not been officially signed for another season until mid-January 2009. Variety reported that the drama only began production on Monday, May 4.

'Mad Men' Stretched to Third Season on AMC

Amidst the dispute between the creator and producer Lionsgate regarding the extension of contract, "" has been stretched to have its third season. The AMC -broadcast drama about '60s advertising executives, will roll its camera in a few weeks to come and premiere its new season in Summer, Variety reported.

Creator slash executive producer Matthew Weiner's contract wound down at the end of second season and no new deal has been reached regarding the third season. However, AMC president, Charlie Collier said that he is positive that a deal will be sealed between the company and Wiener. "As long as we get the writers' room up and running over the next few months, we're fine (for a summer launch)," Collier said.

Receiving a total of 16 nominations at the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, "" scooped the top honor at the awards show Sunday, September 21, being handed the Outstanding Drama Series award. The winning marked the first time ever that the AMC's drama won an Emmy.

"Mad Men", created by screenwriter, television producer, and director Matthew Weiner, premiered on July 19, 2007 and completed its first season on October 18 the same year. Its story is set in the early 1960s and follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell. In addition to its first Emmy winning on the star-studded award event, held at the Nokia Theatre, the series already received Golden Globe and Peabody Award just to name a few. The second season of "Mad Men" began on July 27, 2008.
