'Law and Order' Colorist Sues NBC Over Sex Discrimination
March 16, 2013 12:03:06NBC Universal's owner and several executives have been hit with a lawsuit, filed by a former post-production employee on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit". Expert colorist Charlotte Grau filed the suit against the TV network in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, March 15, claiming that she received physical and mental abuse from her male colleagues.
In the lawsuit filed by L.A. attorney Lisa Maki, Grau was said to have been routinely mistreated by NBCU employees, paid less in overtime than male colleagues, told that her work was inferior and physically assaulted by a male superior. She demanded at least $5 million in damages on claims of sex discrimination, battery, assault, defamation and gender violence.

'Law and Order: SVU' to Air Rihanna and Chris Brown-Inspired Episode
February 22, 2013 03:02:20While their reunion story grabs the headlines in recent weeks, Rihanna and Chris Brown will get the spotlight in a new episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit". Known for its episodes that often take on real-life events, the show will air an episode which focuses on a popular music couple, in which the man abuses his singer girlfriend.
This storyline quickly draws comparison to the relationship of RiRi and Chris, who were involved in an altercation back in 2009. However, in an "SVU" twist, the male singer winds up getting murdered. Despite the similarity, a rep for the police procedural series insists, "As always, SVU is fiction."

Mike Tyson to Guest Star as Murderer on 'Law and Order: SVU'
January 11, 2013 01:01:20Mike Tyson has scored his first major acting gig by signing up to guest star on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit". This time, the former boxer won't play himself like he did on several comedy series in the past.
Tyson will portray Reggie Rhodes, which Deadline describes as "a murderer on death row whose violent actions may in part be the byproduct of a horrible childhood." Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and defense attorney Bayard Ellis (Andre Braugher) will encounter him during an SVU investigation.

The Emily Prentiss of CBS' "Criminal Minds" will guest star in a two-episode premiere of "SVU" season 14 as Paula Foster, a D.A. who investigates Captain Cragen for the murder of a hooker found dead in his bed. The 43-year-old actress tells TV Guide about her character, "The detectives in the precinct all hate Foster because [she's prosecuting Cragen] and tells the team not to work on the case" because they're potential witnesses.

'Law and Order: SVU' Lands Paget Brewster for Season 14 Premiere
July 19, 2012 01:07:55Paget Brewster's first choice to return to television is "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit". The former "Criminal Minds" star has signed up for a guest appearance on the two-hour season 14 premiere which is scheduled to air on September 26.
THR, which reported the casting, said that Brewster is playing the head of the Public Integrity Unit at the District Attorney's office. She'll be tasked with handling the case against Captain Cragen (Dann Florek). Cragen was under suspicion of murder after waking up beside a dead woman in the 13th season finale.

Under the new deal, she will return as Detective Olivia Benson if the show returns for a 14th season, and makes a reported $500,000 per episode.
Though so, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that it does not necessarily mean the procedural series has secured a new season order. NBC is yet to announce the status of the drama series, which hit a series low (4.4 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in 18-49 demo) with its latest episode.

Offering details about the new faces, newly-hired executive producer Warren Leight said Rollins is "coming out of college with degrees in forensic psychology." He added, "She's self-made, and she's had a lot of book training. She has the kind of training you get now at Quantico. March was a regular from 2000-2003, taking the role of ADA Alexandra Cabot. She had recurring part in several seasons in the past. Neal, meanwhile, played ADA Casey Novak from 2003-2008, and recently appeared in an April episode of season 12.

"So I'll officially be back for the next 2 years at least. DONE."
