Having been television's longest-running primetime live-action series, this Dick Wolf-created show has extended its run as it gets renewed for season 22, 23 and 24.

AceShowbiz - "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" has extended its run as one of the world's biggest TV hits with a record-setting 22nd, 23rd, and 24th season.

Dick Wolf's show is currently on its record-setting 21st season, making it TV's longest-running primetime live-action series, and now it has been picked up for another three runs.

The previous record holder was Wolf's "Law & Order", which ran for 20 seasons from 1990 to 2010, and western series "Gunsmoke".

Actress Mariska Hargitay also makes history on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" this season - her Lt. Olivia Benson has become the longest-running character in a primetime live-action series.
