Sophie Episode 1.02 Sophie Comes Home

It's time for Sophie to take her new baby home. Mr. Byrd predicts that the baby will be her "greatest triumph," but sophie's still nervous. So nervous. she begs Matt to sleep over on the Baby's first night at home.

It all goes well, except for the lack of diapers. (Sophie makes do with one of Rick's custom-tailored shirts.) Then Estelle and her daughter Ophella visit and give the baby a totally inappropriate gift. Thankfully, Estelle plans to make up for it. But in order to afford the "ideal" baby gift, Estelle has to voice a film that would make a truck driver blush.

Meanwhile, Rick, Melissa, and Judith show up at Sophie's apartment and get the surprise of a lifetime. Rick's appalled that the baby isn't his -- and that Sophie cheated on him with a stranger. Judith holds out hope that Rick will forgive Sophie and they'll get back together. Melissa, Rick's current squeeze and Sophie's ex-best friend, is delighted she's not going to be a stepmother, er, mother.

Rick storms out. Melissa follows. And Judith is left to give Sophie some surprisingly good advice. She may not have been the warmnest mother to Sophie, but Judith did teach her how to be strong ... and Sophie's going to need all the strength she can get.

Everyone leaves, and Sophie and her baby boy are alone. suddenly, Sophie remembers waht Mr. Byrd said, and she gets the feeling that everything's going to be just fine.
