Lipstick Jungle Episode 1.03 Chapter Three: Pink Poison

Nico is awakened from a sex dream with Kirby by her husband Charles, who suggests she is going to be late for work. He then shows her an article about Wendy titled "Tsunami For Bad Mommy!" Wendy is at home making breakfast for her family, who are also reading the article in the paper. In addition to arguing about the article, Wendy's daughter Maddie is giving her a hard time about not having a cell phone, but Wendy holds her ground.

Victory arrives at her brownstone fresh from a night with Joe, only to be greeted by a potential new assistant she is supposed to interview. Nico, Patty and Kirby are at the Bonfire photo shoot for the Prince. Wendy arrives at Parador's office to find her assistant, Josh, crumpling up the newspaper article. Victory continues to interview her potential new assistant, whom she hires after he showcases his stellar assistant abilities by answering a phone call from Joe Bennett.

Nico and Kirby can't keep their hands off each other at the Bonfire photo shoot but just as things heat up, Nico sees Hector and Mike through a window. She walks down the steps to greet them. Kirby follows and Mike gets a sneaky suspicion that something may be happening between them. In the shoe department at Saks Fifth Avenue, Victory and Wendy are looking at shoes for Maddie when Nico arrives.

Nico and Wendy ask Victory when they are going to meet Joe Bennet. Since Victory seems unsure, they decide to set up a dinner party at Nico's for the following night. When Nico returns to her office, Kirby is waiting for her with proofs from the photo shoot. She tries to keep the exchange as businesslike as possible, but Kirby wants to discuss the state of their affair.

Victory tells Joe about the dinner party with her friends for the following night. He is hesitant but realizes that her friends need to give approval on their relationship. However, her tells her that she should meet his friends first. Nico is at the office late, but makes a phone call to Patty requesting that she drop Kirby as an assistant for the next photo shoot and Patty agrees to bring someone else on.

Wendy and Maddie arrive at the Women in Power luncheon hosted by Nico. To Wendy's surprise, Janice Lasher is also an attendee. Abby Garcia, a young actress, and her mother are sitting at Wendy's table in hopes of getting in good on a few of Parador's upcoming projects. Wendy and Maddie continue to battle in front of the other guests about a cell phone, and Janice Lasher takes notice from across the room.

Joe has surprised Victory in Paris by taking her to Coco Chanel's secret design studio. Victory is in awe of the studio and thankful to Joe as she lays on the bed in the studio and makes love to him.

Just as Nico introduces Wendy as the keynote speaker for the Women in Power luncheon, Maddie storms out, realizing that she is there to ease the bad press Wendy has recently received. Once Wendy completes her speech, she rushes off to find Maddie, but instead runs into Janice Lasher in the women's restroom. Out of revenge, Wendy picks up a red lipstick and writes a descriptive word across the back of Janice's white coat. Janice walks out of the restroom unaware of the addition to her wardrobe, but wonders why everyone is staring at her.

Victory has realized that Joe has brought her to France to avoid her friends' dinner back in New York. Victory decides to push Joe and make sure that they make it back in time for the dinner. Wendy and Shane are at home getting ready for the dinner at Nico's, but get a little sidetracked with each other. At Nico's, the four of them wait for Victory and Joe to arrive... and then the doorbell finally rings. Joe pulls Nico aside and asks to set some ground rules for the dinner.

Kirby confronts Nico about what she said to Patty that got him fired. She promises him that she will deal with it in the morning. Once Nico is back in, they all sit down to dinner. On the drive back home, Victory assures Joe that both Nico and Wendy liked him. Joe suggests that they shouldn't have to spend time with them since the feeling is mutual. Victory is really upset at the realization that Joe wants to keep things simple and not interact with her friends.

Kirby is waiting for Nico in her office when she arrives at work. Nico can't deal with Kirby, so she decides to pay him off instead. Mike spots Kirby walking out of Nico's office with a check in hand, which he tears up and throws away. Before Kirby leaves, Mike manages to hop in the elevator with him to force an introduction. Victory, at home, gets a delivery from Joe Bennet... it's a Coco Chanel dress from her design studio in Paris. Victory asks Joe's assistant Ellen to return it. Wendy has a meeting with Abby Garcia and her mother. Wendy has a heart-to-heart with Abby's mother, who is forcing her daughter into a role and image that she is not mature enough to handle. Wendy reminds her that Abby needs a mother right now much more than a manger.

Nico pays Janice Lasher a visit to discuss the book about Wendy. Janice reminds Nico that Wendy went on record last year saying that Janice publishes trash and that this was her chance to return the favor. Nico introduces Janice to her new assisitant "Sweater Boy," while her old one is now sitting in an office at Bonfire writing nothing but stories about Janice Lasher. Defeated, Janice throws a fit.

Victory and Joe are in her house talking about the argument from the night before. Victory wants him to be a part of her world and he doesn't know if he can change that part about himself. Wendy gets home from a long day at the office to find Maddie on the couch. They have a moment together talking about Maddie's behavior and get back on track. Maddie realizes that the actress Abby Garcia had it far worse than she does.

Hector sits Nico down in front of his desk and asks her about Kirby Atwood and wants to know why he would claim she'd sexually harassed him.
