Danny doesn't understand why Delinda is standing in his doorway when he receives a call about Ed getting shot. Danny is off and running and is soon joined by Mike and other security personnel while the wedding guests wonder why Delinda is late.
Chaos reins supreme at the Montecito: Danny races to the rescue, Jillian discovers that a shot was fired at her husband, and Derek suffers from nervous vomiting. Danny finds the gunman with an empty gun, standing over Ed who has apparently taken a bullet to the brain.
As a riot squad races through the resort and Ed is brought to the hospital, Delinda tells Derek that they rushed into getting married. He agrees, but he's still in love with her and won't let her get away again. Mike interrupts them with the news that Ed has been shot.
In the ambulance, the techs discover that a wedding present Ed was holding took the bullet, and the blood on his forehead is only from a surface wound. When
On top of everything else, a team of card cheats are working the single-deck blackjack tables. Mike also informs Sam that Woody has arrived for the wedding, but Sam is more concerned with a whale who refuses to vacate the Montecito's Hawaiian villa or pay for $500,000 in charges.
At the hospital, Delinda admits to her mom that she's in love with Danny as Ed comes to in his room. CIA Agent Lennox tells Ed that The Company had nothing to do with the shooting, but that Karim Sharif is still alive. Delinda and Jillian come into the room to check on Ed, who only hit his head when he fell. He's sorry about the wedding and Delinda says there isn't going to be one as she casts Danny a meaningful look.
Danny and Sam agreed to go to the wedding together. Danny was hoping that meant they might have sex later. Sam assured him that the only way it would happen is if she had enough tequila in her. Danny found Ed and confessed that he might be in love with Delinda. Ed didn't know how to react and walked away.
In his library, Ed packs up a gun and a suitcase to leave town on "a little business," as he puts it to Danny. Ed asks Danny to look after his family if something happens to him. Ed takes off and Danny answers his ringing phone to learn that Sam is in Hawaii to take care of the whale and that Casey's little brother Vic is the manager there. As Danny leaves the room, he finds that Ed left his will behind.
Sam wonders aloud to Vic "what kind of an idiot" would let a client rack up a $500,000 bill. Vic insists that Casey said to give Sam's clients whatever they want. Sam enters the suite to find the whale, Brian, casually eating chicken with a dead stripper draped across the bed.
Someone has tapped into the Montecito's surveillance video system. As they track that source down, they match a name to Ed's would-be assassin: Barry Berona.
Sam calls Danny for help as the law and Brian's goofball attorney pressure her for information. Danny tries to offer his assistance as Mary has it out with Delinda for hiding her feelings toward Danny from her. Mary turns around to have it out with Danny as Sam listens in from her cell phone. When Sam refuses to hang up, the Hawaii 5-O arrest her and cart her off in handcuffs.
While Jewel performs in the club, Mike tells Danny that the card cheats are a bunch of frat boys working the old M.I.T. scam. Danny suggests they set up a private table to trap them. He also suggests that the CIA is behind the video tap and they can flood the tap with spam to bring them down.
In London, Ed retrieves a long-stowed safety deposit box filled with money, a gun, and a stack of passports issued by different countries. A world away, a mysterious flash drive that Vic has gets Sam out of trouble... for now.
While Jewel plays on, the security team gets word that the tap has vanished. On the dance floor, Delinda says her final goodbyes to Derek, who walks off alone. Danny joins Delinda on the dance floor as Mary watches them with tears in her eyes.
From lawyer Benny's outdoor, beachfront "office," Sam uses a webcam to contact Mike for help in opening the flash drive. With the entire surveillance crew watching, Vic enters the frame to talk about "what happened between us... Sam, I'm in love with you." A confused Sam turns back to Mike who opens the first of two files, revealing...
