After finally getting Hank and Peggy out of the house, Bobby pops in an instructional video on dog dancing, the newest pet craze. Bobby teaches Lady Bird the newest dance routines and even incorporates a figure-skating aspect with music and costumes.
When a horrified Hank catches Lady Bird dancing, he scolds Bobby, telling him that Lady Bird is too old to dance. But Hank, realizing that Lady Bird has undergone an awakening, dances with her after she starts moving to the music in his workshop.
Bobby, still moping about Hank's admonishment, enters Connie's new dog in a dancing dog contest. Hank then sees an advertisement for the contest and enters Lady Bird, causing Bobby to accuse Hank of wanting Lady Bird all to himself. Hank is so determined to win the contest that he begins to alienate Peggy, who throws all her energy into helping Bobby.
Meanwhile, Bill wants to enter a dog in the contest, but the only dog he can get is an uncontrollable Rottweiler. At the contest, Lady Bird squirms in her costume, and Hank lets Lady Bird dance freestyle without her outfit. Lady Bird, however, falters in her routine.
By contrast, Bobby puts together a dazzling routine and Connie's dog wins. Hank is initially depressed because his fantasy of Lady Bird being young again has been quashed. But in the garage, Hank shares a nostalgic dance with Lady Bird.
