Alex and his team comb the railroad area for the rest of Jane Doe's bones. The search turns up part of an artificial kneecap. A partial serial number leads them to the hospital where their victim had surgery. A nurse recognizes Tyler's sketch. She doesn't remember Railroad Jane as a patient, but as a social worker from a nearby children's shelter. Her name: Amy Martin.

Alex and Tyler track down her boyfriend, Daniel Harris, who says they dated for over a year. Amy was very secretive about her past. She disappeared shortly after getting an upsetting phone call. She had a sister, Kay, in the Chicago area, but Daniel doesn't have the address.

A frequent tipster for the Forgotten Network who goes by the name "Horsemama" claims she saw Amy and Kay's father working at a bowling alley in Joliet. Walter finds this hard to believe since the guy has a different last name and the team already knows that their victim's parents are dead. Love the name Horsemama though.

The team discovers that Amy's sister was married and her name is now Kay Sheppard, and she's the one who called Amy the day she disappeared. They meet Kay's husband, Ben, at the hospital where she's been in a coma for 10 months after a car accident. That's about how long it's been since Amy died. But she came to Chicago two days before Kay's accident. So they still don't know why Amy dropped everything to come to town.

Tyler and Candace visit the real estate office where Kay worked and discover that she and Amy had argued there. Meanwhile, Walter visits a coffee shop that Amy had punched into her GPS. The owner, Keith Gibson, says they may have met there but he honestly can't remember. They discover that Amy came to town to schedule an intervention for Kay, possibly for abuse. This leads them back to Ben Sheppard, who had been separated from his wife. But he was in Atlanta when Kay was hit by the car.

The team suspects Amy came to town because she thought Kay was being abused. Perhaps they had been through this before while growing up, as there are no death certificates for their parents. Maybe they were on the run. Walter remembers Horsemama claimed to have tracked down their father.

They invite Horsemama over to Lindsey's place. She's eccentric to say the least. We were busting when she asked what kind of beer they have on tap. But when all is said and done, Horsemama's info pans out and they track down Frank Sanders, who hasn't seen his daughters in 10 years. He came home one night loaded and angry. He doesn't remember what happened that night but knows that both girls were gone the next morning.

Lindsey does an Internet search on the sisters now that they know their real last name. She finds a picture of Kay with an old boyfriend. It's Keith, the guy Walter questioned at the coffee shop. Walter had mentioned that Kay was showing signs of improvement and there was a chance she might come out of her coma. If Keith is the killer, Kay is in grave danger.

Sure enough, Keith shows up at the hospital and cons an unsuspecting Tyler into letting him have a few minutes alone with Kay. Alex desperately tries to reach Tyler on his cell phone, but the reception inside the hospital is weak. Keith unhooks Kay's life support devices. The hospital room door opens. Tyler rushes in and pulls Keith away from Kay. When Keith tries to escape down the hall, Alex is there to make sure that doesn't happen.

After Kay got separated from her husband, she reestablished contact with her abusive ex-boyfriend, Keith. When Amy tried to get her sister away from him, Keith killed her. He then ran down a fleeing Kay. Kay had protected Amy from their abusive father while they were growing up, so Amy went to Chicago to protect her sister from this new abuse. They have Keith on attempted murder at the hospital. And if the day comes when Kay finally wakes up, she'll be able to tell the police what he did to her sister thanks to the dedicated team at the Forgotten Network…and, of course, Horsemama.
