Morris woke up in Albright's bed, where she was lying naked next to him. He knew that Ray wouldn't believe him, so he took pictures of Albright while she was still sleeping. The next day, Morris bragged to Ray about his conquest. Morris was surprised when Albright continued to be rude to him at work.

A father and his two young sons were rushed into the ER with head traumas. Kovac and Sam worked on one of the sons and Clemente rushed in. He was acting incoherent and repeating everything Kovac was already saying. Kovac called him out on his behavior and he blamed everything on his lack of sleep. Kovac kicked him out of the ER.

Neela received the good news that there was an opening in the ER for a new surgeon residency and she was offered the position. She was excited. But, she had to answer a page before she could celebrate. It was Kovac, who had some other life-changing news for Neela.

Neela told her co-workers about the great news, but nobody was showing enthusiasm on their faces. She was confused about what was going on. Ray found her before she could talk to Kovac and told her that there were two men in military uniform to see her. They had the sad news that her husband had been killed in the line of duty in Iraq. She tried to go on with work.

Pratt tried to encourage one of the young patients to talk about what happened to his brother and father, who were both still in comas. The intern pointed out that the boy showed signs of past rib fractures. The boy confessed that his dad beat both him and his little brother and in defense, the boy grabbed a baseball bat and beat his dad into a coma.

All of Neela's friends at the ER were trying to console her and urged her to go back to Abby's apartment to rest. She refused. She confessed to Ray that without her husband, the hospital was all that she had and she didn't want anybody's condolences or anybody's help. After Kovac's urging, Neela reluctantly headed home.

Abby and Sam worked on the boy's father who was still in a coma. Clemente came in and tried to help but was only getting in the way. The man's heartbeat stopped and Clemente pushed Sam out of the way and tried CPR to save the man's life. When nothing worked and Abby called the time of death, Clemente had a fit and left the ER to go get coffee.

Because of his insomnia and paranoia, Clemente was not acting well. On his way to get coffee, he yelled at a homeless man. When a cab driver didn't let him cross the street, he jumped on the man's cab and started denting the hood, before smashing the windows and urinating on the car and the man. Shortly after, he was brought into the ER.

Pratt informed his young patient that his father had died due to his injuries with the baseball bat. He assured the boy that he wasn't going to go to hell or jail, but he and his little brother would be put into foster homes. Pratt thought about how unjust the world was, when the smallest victims of abuse don't get saved. Pratt had come back a changed man since his work in Darfur.

Kovak offered to check Clemente into the psychiatric ward himself. Clemente thanked him for all of his help and for being a good friend. On his way to the elevator, Pratt, Sam, and Ray sent out good thoughts for Clemente and hoped he got the help that he needed.

Neela's husband, Mike, had left her a video to play only if he died. Neela sat alone in Abby's apartment and watched the video. In it, Mike told her how much he loved her and how much he wanted her to be happy, to get married, again, and to have babies. Neela sobbed as she watched her husband for the last time.
