Dirty Sexy Money Episode 2.05 The Verdict

Nola Lyons worries aloud that her dalliances with Jeremy will ruin her career... as they bathe together.

Lisa shows off her new gallery to Nick, who is terribly proud and totally unaware that Jeremy Darling is the secret silent partner.

Nick and Nola meet with the judge, and Nick is accused of witness tampering. Because of tricky phone records, Nick's mom's earlier statement is allowed as evidence. While leaving the judge's office, Nick accuses Nola of seeing Jeremy on the sly.

Tripp gives Patrick a list of possible Chiefs of Staff, many of whom are older than Tripp, himself. Karen visits Nick's office to gush about her upcoming wedding to Simon, and Nick (again) reminds her that Simon is using her for a stake in Darling Enterprises. She asks Nick to tell Tripp about the nuptials so she doesn't have to. Nick and Tripp decide to pull Karen's shares in the company to keep it safe from Simon.

Karen receives papers detailing her estrangement as she samples cakes with Simon and plans for their engagement party. Simon makes a strange remark about family alliances and encourages Karen to get her brothers to the party, which will send a message to Tripp.

At the opening of The Lisa George Gallery, Nick learns through Joel Madden that Jeremy is Lisa's partner in the gallery. This eventually leads Nick away from Lisa and on his own, because he "needs space."

Meanwhile, Brian, Andrea and Brian Jr. get tested for parasites as they recently spent time in Brazil. Andrea learns that she has cancer... which, it turns out, she already knew. In fact, she was in Brazil to get holistic treatment for her disease. Brian promises to take care of her, and she takes him up on his offer.

At lunch, the Darling siblings discuss standing up to Tripp. Karen begs them to attend her engagement party, and they all agree to attend... but keep it a secret from their dad. Tripp sees Jeremy and Brian leaving for the party and tries to get the two to admit they're going to Karen's party. Letitia, however, is supportive of her children's decision to go to the party and tells Tripp to let the children go.

Nick later gets Jeremy to admit to his affair with Nola Lyons, which essentially nullifies the case against Letitia. Nola is livid.

At the engagement party, Simon makes a speech to let everyone know that he and Karen intend to make a life free of secrets... All is merry until Tripp shows up and essentially gives his blessing to Karen while more or less disowning her. He also makes elusive threats to the boys for sneaking around behind his back. Tripp then gives Karen a gift -- the crystal swan she swiped from Simon at the beginning of the season.

Nola and Jeremy meet in public and she tells him that the case is over and blames Jeremy for ruining her career by fessing up to Nick. Later, she approaches Patrick and blackmails her way into his Chief of Staff position.

As Letitia breathes in her newfound freedom, Jeremy joins her on the balcony. She congratulates him on his work with Nola -- apparently he's been sabotaging her from the start -- and Jeremy starts to cry because he's in love with the former District Attorney.

Nick, now free from Lisa, approaches Karen at Simon's building and tells her not to marry her betrothed. Karen tells him that she needs something solid from him or she's staying with Simon. Just as Nick is about to tell his childhood sweetheart that he loves her, you see that Simon has been spying on them the whole time. And Nola is by his side. They've both been scheming to get into the Darling's lives the entire time.
