'The Amazing Race' Season 20 Contestants Revealed
January 26, 2012 12:01:12The 20th season of "The Amazing Race" brings in two familiar faces in the reality TV world. Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas of "Big Brother" are teaming up against 10 other teams as engaged couple. Villegas met Reilly in the 12th season of "Big Brother" and they returned as couple in the following season in which she won.
In its announcement on Wednesday, January 25, CBS calls this season "one of the most competitive courses ever". Added to the race are married clowns, dating divorcees, border patrol agents pair, soccer player twins and federal agents in addition to the usual family/friend relationship.

CBS Sets Premiere Date of 'Amazing Race' Season 20, Adjusts Midseason Schedule
December 16, 2011 02:12:38"The Amazing Race" will debut its 20th cycle on February 19, 2012 at 8 P.M. on CBS. The show's return will push "Undercover Boss", which will premiere the new season earlier on January 15, from the Sunday slot to Fridays at 8 P.M., effective February 17.
"Undercover Boss" move will also affect "A Gifted Man" airing time. Accordingly, the Patrick Wilson-starring medical series is pushed back an hour, to Fridays at 9 P.M., also beginning February 17.

'The Amazing Race' Finale: Ernie and Cindy Win in a Twist of Luck
December 12, 2011 10:12:03Another lost case on "The Amazing Race" season 19 has given an aid to Ernie and Cindy. The couple managed to lead in the leg after Jeremy and Sandy headed to the wrong place in the middle of the race.
Early in the Sunday, December 11 episode, Jeremy and Sandy were the first team to leave, followed by Ernie & Cindy and Amani & Marcus. However, they all boarded the same flight to Atlanta, Georgia. Upon arriving there, the teams headed to the Flight Safety International.

'Amazing Race' Recap: Frontrunners Lost in Race for the Finale
December 05, 2011 11:12:37Andy and Tommy made a big mistake when they were only a step away from getting into the finale of "The Amazing Race" season 19. Having won several legs and leading since the beginning of the 11th leg, the frontrunner team wrongly guessed the pit stop which blew away their chance to secure a spot in the last leg.
Early in the November 11 episode of the adventure show, the remaining four teams were dressed as characters from comic strip and had to guess who they were. The characters were related to a picture they had been given. While three teams quickly learned that they were dressed as the detectives in Tin Tin comic books, Andy and Tommy believed for quite a long time that they were dressed as Charlie Chaplin.

'Amazing Race' Recap: The Oldest Couple Can't Keep Up With Speed
November 28, 2011 10:11:37Bill and Cathi have ended their gig on "The Amazing Race". The grandparents were the last team to arrive at the pit stop in the previous leg where the contestants were told to continue the race immediately. In the November 27 episode, the old couple still could not catch up with the other teams.
For the first challenge which still took place in Belgium, the teams must head to Ford Lommel Proving Grounds where they had to test drive a Ford Mustang. Ernie and Cindy took over the leading position from Amani and Marcus at this point with Jeremy and Sandy following closely behind them.

'Amazing Race' Recap: Lost Tickets, Skimpy Outfits and No Break
November 21, 2011 10:11:39The ninth leg of "The Amazing Race" season 19 gave a big surprise to all contestants. Ernie and Cindy, who won in the previous leg, departed first for the challenge that still took place in Denmark. They headed to a statue of Hans Christian Anderson where they must remember a poem to get their first clue.
After memorizing the poem, the contestants must use a map on a provided bicycle's wheel to ride themselves to the Theater Museum in the Court where they must recite the poem in a dramatic reading. Cindy nailed it on the first try.

'Amazing Race' Recap: U-Turn Gives Dead End for Laurence and Zac
November 14, 2011 10:11:03Ineffective U-Turn has cost a lot for Laurence and Zac on "The Amazing Race". The adventurers were eliminated in the Sunday, November 13 episode after they were U-Turned by another team while they had wasted their own U-Turn in the previous leg.
In this eighth leg, all six teams left Malawi and headed to Copenhagen, Denmark. Laurence and Zac decided not to take the first flight with other teams and boarded another plane to London in hope of getting an earlier flight to Copenhagen. Their strategy was proven to be right as they arrived first in Copenhagen.

'Amazing Race' Recap: Jennifer and Justin Eliminated After Being Clueless
November 07, 2011 10:11:48"The Amazing Race" continued the race in Africa in a Sunday, November 6 episode. After spending a night at Kumbali Village, the remaining teams headed to the village of Salima with a bus in this seventh leg.
For being the winner in last leg, Andy and Tommy could start earlier than other teams. They departed at 5:30 A.M., but the bus only left at 7 A.M. Justin and Jennifer followed next, but they and the rest of the teams ended up taking the same bus.

'Amazing Race' Recap: Local People Cheering on Contestants in Africa
October 31, 2011 10:10:38Amani and Marcus were bumped from the top to the bottom place in the sixth leg of "The Amazing Race". The married couple departed from Bangkok to head to Malawi earlier than any other teams following their win in the last leg, but they were left behind upon arriving in the African country.
Their first direction in Malawi was a tobacco warehouse where they would face the Roadblock. In the challenge, one member of each team must push huge bales of tobacco across the warehouse. Local workers danced and sang to cheer on the contestants who were racing to push the heavy bales.

'Amazing Race' Recap: Broke Twins Sent Home
October 24, 2011 10:10:39Liz and Marie could not count on their luck again on the Sunday, October 23 episode of "The Amazing Race". After escaping the elimination last week despite arriving the last, the twins once again came behind the pack in the fifth leg which began at the floating village of Koh Panyi in Thailand.
All eight teams must travel by an elephant up a river, but Liz and Marie had to wash some elephants first as a Speed Bump task for arriving the last in the previous leg. Meanwhile, Andy and Tommy got the clue first which told them to find a waterfall area where a man was playing a traditional Thai flute. Once they found it, they had to dive under the water to get the next clue.

'Amazing Race' Week 4 Recap: Useless Sailors and Lucky Twins
October 17, 2011 10:10:36It's another non-elimination leg on "The Amazing Race". In the fourth episode which aired Sunday, October 16, the remaining eight teams flew from Yogyakarta to Jakarta, Indonesia where they would continue their trip to Phuket, Thailand.
Laurence and Zac as well as Andy and Tommy, who were actually leading, made a bad flight planning so they arrived one hour later than the other teams. However, the dock where their next clue was located did not open until 8 A.M., so all of the teams were in an equal position at this point.

October 10, 2011 09:10:58Kaylani and Lisa were completely out of luck on "The Amazing Race". After almost leaving the competition soon after it was kicked off because Kaylani lost her passport at a gas station, the former Vegas showgirls got eliminated in the third leg which still took place in Indonesia.
In the October 9 episode, the remaining nine teams departed from Kraton Palace in Yogyakarta. They joined a group of bicycle riders and dressed in the costume from the Dutch colonial era. As the winner of last leg, Andy and Tommy started and finished the bike ride first to get their first clue, which told them to go to a restaurant in a village by taxi.

In the October 2 episode called "The Sprint of Our Life", they flew from Taipei to Jakarta before taking a train to Yogyakarta. They headed to Goa Jomblang Cave where they faced a Road Block. The teams were tasked to get down the cave and search for a mask and a sword to get their next clue.

September 26, 2011 08:09:32"The Amazing Race" kicked off its 19th cycle on Sunday, September 25. From Los Angeles, eleven teams would depart for Taipei, Taiwan, but they first must solve a word puzzle that spelled their destination.
Andy and Tommy solved the puzzle first, so they could go to the airport with a car. They and seven other teams were on board China air earlier, while the rest of the teams took another flight that departed 20 minutes later.

September 01, 2011 12:09:10After bringing back previous contestants last season, the nineteenth cycle of "The Amazing Race" will feature two familiar faces from another reality show. "Survivor: Africa" winner Ethan Zohn and "Survivor: The Amazon" champ Jenna Morasca, who happen to be a real-life couple, will join forces in the travelling competition.
For Zohn, their participation in the show is a celebration after he survived Hodgkin's lymphoma. "What we have been through the past two years has not been the greatest. To be able to come out on top and then go away and travel the world - it's a celebration," he said, but Morasca called it "a stressful celebration."

'The Amazing Race' Ordered for 20th Season
June 17, 2011 10:06:09"The Amazing Race" has received an early order for another new season. CBS announced on Thursday, June 16 that it has ordered the reality series for a 20th season that will premiere in spring 2012.
Before that, the Emmy-winning show will return for the 19th season this fall on Sundays at 8 P.M. Phil Keoghan will return as the host with new contestants after the 18th season, which was won by Kisha and Jen, featured eleven teams from previous editions.

In the May 1 episode, all contestants faced one of the toughest legs as they went on an adventure amid the freezing weather in Switzerland. First, the teams headed to the air rescue helicopter port in Zermatt where they boarded on helicopter that departed in five minute intervals.
From Zermatt, they went to a mountain next to the Matterhorn where they had to choose between Search or Rescue for detour. In Search, teams had to locate a training dummy that was buried somewhere on the mountain. Meanwhile in Rescue, teams were required to use a device and rescued a mountaineer by repelling down a crevice.

April 25, 2011 10:04:41The Sunday, April 24 episode of "The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business" started off in Austria where six remaining teams caught a train to Liechtenstein. Once arriving there, they faced a Road Block which told them to measure the entire length of the country on a motorized bike (a Solex), using an odometer and a map.
Gary and Mallory, who arrived in last place in previous leg, faced Speed Bump in this Road Block. They had to make fuel for their Solex with gas and oil as the extra task. Justin was the first who guessed the distant correctly, followed by Jen who heard his guess. Once Justin collected Zev and Jen was back with Kisha, the two teams were on board a train to Zermatt, Switzerland where they faced a detour.

'Amazing Race' Recap: Becoming Chimney Sweepers, Contestants Survive Elimination
April 18, 2011 09:04:53From India, "The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business" moved to Vienna, Austria. Five teams got on a flight that arrived earlier than the cowboys who took a flight that only required one connection.
The teams were given 2012 Ford Focuses that have a video message from Phil telling them to use the My Ford Touch system. The clue led them to Schloss Schallaburg, a castle where they found the next clue. From the castle, the teams got another clue which sent them to the National Library where they faced a detour.
