Al Gore Returns to '30 Rock' in Green Week
November 12, 2009 02:11:32For the second time, former Vice President of United States Al Gore shows up on "30 Rock". Closely associated to environment, Gore will appear as himself and share a scene with Jack McBrayer aka Kenneth. Jack Donaghy tells "TGS" staff it has to cut its carbon footprint by 5 percent, and puts Kenneth in charge of getting it done.
This November 19 episode will kick off NBC's "Green Week" which is held annually. The Peacock is spreading a pro-environmental message across five of its prime-time entertainment programs including "The Office", "Heroes", "The Biggest Loser" and "Community". McBrayer said, "It's something that is relatable and is something that a lot of people are doing."

October 30, 2009 04:10:37"Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi will share the screen with Alec Baldwin next month in a "30 Rock" episode. The first looks of her appearing as herself have been shared by NBC, giving a preview that she will discuss culinary with Jack in his office.
The episode is called "The Problem Solvers" and it will air on November 12. According to the synopsis, the new actor starts work at "TGS," and after observing how low maintenance he is, Tracy and Jenna begin to rethink how they treat Kenneth. Meanwhile, Jack offers Liz her own talk show, but Jenna convinces her to explore all of her options first.

'30 Rock' Hires Actual Porn Star to Play Porn Liz
October 21, 2009 10:10:34A porn star is coming to "30 Rock" this Thursday, October 22. Savanna Samson, an adult film star, will play a porn version of Tina Fey's Liz Lemon in the episode called "Into the Crevasse". Interestingly, Samson is apparently a big fan of Tina since her hey-day on "Saturday Night Live".
"My entire experience in working with '30 Rock' was fun from beginning to end," Samson said as quoted by XBiz. "It's really an honor to play the porn version of the Tina Fey character as I've admired her for years on 'Saturday Night Live' and I love what she's done with this series."

'30 Rock' to Have Star-Studded Musical for May Finale
April 22, 2009 02:04:34If one thinks that the third season of "30 Rock" has been star-studded so far, think again. For the season finale, the NBC comedy has prepared a huge fiesta that involves celebrities of all kind including Clay Aiken, Alan Alda and Mary J. Blige.
In a press release announcing the dates of the finales, NBC mentioned a "special episode featuring Alan Alda and surprise musical guests" for "30 Rock" finale on May 14. The best guess is, the comedy will have a musical episode which is backed up also with the appearances by Adam Levine, Sheryl Crow, Elvis Costello and recurring cast Sherri Shepherd.

The episode will be called "Generalissimo", a term which is a reference to a character in a Mexican telenovela that Elisa's grandmother watches. Jack wonders why his new lover's grandma doesn't like him and finds out that he bears a resemblance to the telenovela's villain. This is sneak peeked in the other clip.

Golden Globe winning series "30 Rock" is unquestionably one of those going to the 'yes' tray along with "The Office" and reality show "The Biggest Loser". All three shows have been showing a growth in ratings in fall and mid seasons.
Meanwhile, uncertainty revolves around "Lipstick Jungle", "Kath & Kim" as well as "Knight Rider". They are not as lucky as "Heroes", which despite its declining rate, is said to have a "very secure" future. "We have a great relationship with (creator) Tim Kring," new primetime entertainment president Angela Bromstad said. "... What's important is we never lose sight of being responsible in production."

Salma Hayek has given her insights to making a cameo as Elisa, a Puerto Rican nurse to Jack Donaghy's mother who eventually is tangled in a romantic journey with Jack.
Four clips from the episode which is called "Senor Macho Solo" are also released. First clip shows Liz's craze for a baby that has reached a bizarre level when she takes fallen baby shoes.
