In 2008 she only watched her husband Jay-Z taking the British rock festival's stage from the side, but this year, she is performing.
R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles is "pumped" to follow in her husband Jay-Z's groundbreaking footsteps and headline Britain's biggest rock festival Glastonbury in June. Speculation started earlier this week that the "Crazy in Love" hitmaker would be one of the big acts to play to thousands of music fans at the annual event after her pal Chris Martin's band Coldplay announced its slot.
Beyonce has now confirmed the news, saying, "This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend."
Beyonce watched from the side of the stage at the 2008 Glastonbury as her rapper husband thrilled the crowd with a storming show following huge criticism over a hip-hop act headlining the traditionally rock-oriented event.
It is also rumored British rockers The Libertines will follow up their comeback gig at last year's Reading and Leeds festivals with an appearance at this year's Glastonbury, which takes place in Somerset, England.
