The Hole vocalist is called out by Swifties after dismissing the pop superstar as 'not important' in an interview, during which she also takes aim at Madonna and other fellow female artists.

AceShowbiz - Courtney Love may have picked the wrong fight. The singer/guitarist has enraged Swifties after dismissing Taylor Swift as "not important" in an interview, where she also dissed other fellow female artists.

"Taylor is not important," she told The Standard of the "Cruel Summer" songstress. "She might be a safe space for girls, and she's probably the Madonna of now, but she's not interesting as an artist."

Despite acknowledging Madonna and her influence back in her heyday, Courtney doesn't like the "Like a Virgin" hitmaker either. "I don't like her and she doesn't like me," she told the magazine, which published the interview on Monday, April 15.

Courtney then took a shot at Lana Del Rey and Beyonce Knowles' country album "Cowboy Carter". "I haven't liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off," she said of the "Video Games" songstress. "Up until 'Take Me Home Country Roads' I thought she was great. When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much."

While the outlet noted that the Hole vocalist "is positive about the way female artists have come to the fore in recent years," she stated, "It's great that there are so many successful women in the music industry, but lots of them are becoming a cliche. Now, every successful woman is cloned, so there is just too much music. They're all the same. If you play something on Spotify, you get bombarded with a lot of stuff that's exactly the same."

That's when she criticized Bey's new album. "I mean, I like the idea of Beyonce doing a country record because it's about black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don't like her music," the 59-year-old weighed in.

After the interview was released, many slammed Courtney for "publicly putting down fellow female artists" while promoting a series that is supposed to be about the importance of women in music. A Swiftie defended the "Anti-Hero" singer, "She is jealous, I don't even know her. Taylor is a world-class artist."

"Courtney love always coming for women younger and prettier than her, like go find something to do granny," another wrote. Fuming, a third fan added, "100 years from now, the name Courtney Love will mean nothing. Not a single person will know who she is. But when Taylor Swift is mentioned, people will remember how she was able to connect with millions of people thru [sic] her music, cherished her fans, and fought for artists' rights."

Not surprised, someone said, "I'm laughing at people being shocked that Courtney Love is hating on other female artists. Welcome to 1992!!! Homegirl has been a hater since the 90s."

Courtney, however, may not be apologetic about her comments on other female artists. In the interview, she admitted that she is "completely disagreeable" and said she is "never going to [apologize] for that." She added, "I always wanted to be known as a b***h. Being liked was never my thing."
