AceShowbiz - Jelly Roll has opened up about the ups and downs in his eight years of marriage to Bunnie Xo. During a recent chat, the "Son of a Sinner" singer revealed what he and his musician wife have done to maintain their marriage.

In a new interview published on Friday, April 12, the 39-year-old country star admitted that he and his wife, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, have "put in a lot of work" in their marriage. He also said that the struggles were "worth it."

Speaking to PEOPLE, Jelly stated, "I'm really glad she posted about that because I think it's important for people that admire our relationship and our love for each other, to also know that man, we put in a lot of work." He was making a reference to Bunnie's March TikTok video, in which she discussed their 2018 split.

Jelly went on to explain, "It ain't always been Hallmark cards and Care Bears, and we had to really put in a lot of work to be together, and it was worth it. It was worth every second. It was worth every disagreement. It was worth every split. All roads pointed back to the North Star that was all love." About their condition now, he spilled, "We're in the easy phase now."

During the chat, Jelly also shared his feelings when he won three trophies at the 2024 CMT Music Awards with Bunnie by his side. He told the media outlet, "Imagine having everything you never thought would happen, happen for you, coming from where I came from, then getting to do it all and share every experience with your best friend and your wife."

"I feel like last year CMTs was the launch of Jelly Roll, the artist. I feel like this year's CMTs was the launch of Bunnie, the personality," the "Need a Favor" singer continued. "She wasn't a plus one this year. That's really, really cool."

Jelly and Bunnie met each other for the first time in 2015. In August 2016, the two tied the knot at Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Since then, the couple has been taking care of his two children, daughter Bailee and son Noah, from previous relationships.
