The 'Hotline Bling' hitmaker allegedly assures that he will fire back at his rival, who dissed him on 'Like That', despite his pal, the 'No Role Modelz' rapper, publicly apologizing to their nemesis.

AceShowbiz - Drake reportedly has hinted that he will hit back at Kendrick Lamar's diss. Upon learning that his pal, J. Cole, issued an apology to Kendrick after firing back at their rival, the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker allegedly assured that he is not going to do the same thing as the "No Role Modelz" rapper.

In a video circulating online on Monday, April 8, DJ Akademiks revealed that he had talked to the 37-year-old Canadian hip-hop artist about Cole publicly apologizing to Kendrick. About how the conversation went, Akademiks recalled, "I sent a video of [Cole apologizing]. I said, 'Please, don't do no s**t like this.' "

Akademiks went on to recount, " 'Please don't apologize or do no weird s**t. I've defended you, I've argued because I've liked your music for over a decade. Please, please, don't do no s**t like this.' And it's the only thing I said."

About Drake's reaction to his statement, Akademiks unveiled, "Drake laughed at me." He explained, "He said, 'I cant f**king believe you would pull up and say some s**t like that to me. You must not know me now.' "

The revelation came shortly after Cole made a confession about throwing shade at Kendrick on "7 Minute Drill". During a headlining performance at his Dreamville Festival in North Carolina on Sunday, April 7, he said, "I'm so proud of ['Might Delete Later'], except for one part. It's one part of that s**t that makes me feel like, 'Man that's the lamest s**t I did in my f**kin' life, right?' And I know this is not what a lot of people want to hear."

Cole further shared that he did not "even feel no way" about Kendrick's diss. He admitted that he "felt conflicted" to hit back since "the world wanna see blood." He also said that releasing the diss track "disrupts my f**kin' peace." He then asked festivalgoers, "How many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherf**kers to ever touch a f**kin' microphone? Dreamville, y'all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I."

Cole dropped "7 Minute Drill" on Friday, April 4 as a response to Kendrick's diss on "Like That", which was unleashed on March 22. Kendrick himself has not broken his silence following Cole's public apology.
