The 'No Role Modelz' rapper releases his own diss track as a response to the 'Pray for Me' spitter's shade on a collaborative single 'Like That' with Future and Metro Boomin.

AceShowbiz - J. Cole has given his response to Kendrick Lamar's diss. Upon learning that his rival took a jab at him on "Like That", the "No Role Modelz" rapper hit back at the "Pray for Me" spitter with his own diss track titled "7 Minute Drill".

On Friday, April 4, the 39-year-old hip-hop artist unleashed his surprise album "Might Delete Later". The newly-released record contains 12 songs, including "7 Minute Drill". On it, he appears to shade Kendrick by rapping, "I got a phone call, they say that somebody dissing/ You want some attention, it come with extensions."

Cole continues, "He still doing shows but fell off like 'The Simpsons'/ Your first s**t was classic, your last s**t was tragic/ Your second s**t put n***as to sleep but they gassed it/ Your third s**t was massive and that was your prime/ I was trailing right behind and I just now hit mine."

The Germany-born spitter adds, "He averaging one 'Heart' verse like every 30 months or something/ If he wasn't dissing, then we wouldn't be discussing nothin'/ Blood don't make me have to smoke this n***a 'cause I f**k with him/ But push come to shove on this mic I will humble him," seemingly making a reference to Kendrick's five-part songs "The Heart".

Aside from "7 Minute Drill", "Might Delete Later" features other tracks, including "Pricey" that he created with Ari Lennox, Gucci Mane and Young Dro. The latest set also contains "Ready '24", which features Cam'ron.

Cole dropped "7 Minute Drill" after Kendrick threw shade at him and Drake on "Like That", a collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin that was released on March 22. On the song, Kendrick raps, "Motherf**k the big three, n***a, it's just big me," referring to himself, Drake and Cole, who are commonly known as "the big three."

On the same track, Kendrick also spits, "Yeah, get up with me/ F**k sneak dissin', first person shooter/ I hope they came with three switches." He was making a reference to Drake and Cole's collaborative track titled "First Person Shooter", which was released in 2023.
