Joy Behar believes hot female comedians are likely to fail in making people laugh and co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin agrees that their looks can be a distraction.

AceShowbiz - "The View" co-host Joy Behar has offered her opinion on a viral TikTok claim that "Saturday Night Live" has never hired a "hot" female cast member.

Behar, 81, dismissed the claim during Thursday's April 4 episode, stating that "it's a comedy show, not a beauty pageant." She emphasized that the focus should be on humor rather than the physical appearance of the cast members.

"It's not for men to ogle the women trying to get a laugh," she said.

Behar also expressed her belief that excessively attractive women may not be as successful in comedy because audiences would be distracted by their appearance. "No one's going to laugh at what you say if they're too busy looking at your boobs," she said.

She added that she didn't consider legendary "SNL" alums John Belushi and Chris Farley to be particularly attractive, and that the current cast members were not "hot" in the sense of being sexually appealing.

Behar's comments come after TikTok user Jahelis sparked controversy by suggesting that "SNL" had never hired a "hot" woman. Jahelis noted that while current cast member Heidi Gardner was often portrayed as the "super hot and super dumb" girl in sketches, she was "not that pretty." She also mentioned that Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig were attractive, but not necessarily hot.

Behar's co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, acknowledged that there was "a baseline of attractiveness on TV," but added that "no Beyonces or Brad Pitts" were on "SNL" because the emphasis was on humor. Griffin pointed out that recent guest host Jacob Elordi, who is known for his attractive appearance, had faced distractions in sketches due to his looks.
