AceShowbiz - Doja Cat has surprised her devotees with her new social media post. While announcing that she will be releasing a single titled "Masc" very soon, the "Paint the Town Red" hitmaker shared a snippet of the upcoming song.
On Friday, March 29, the 28-year-old hip-hop artist made use of her Instagram page to give details of the forthcoming single. In her new social media post, she revealed that the track is set to be unleashed on April 5.
In the same post, Doja let out a snippet of the song. In the recording, she could be heard singing, "Boy, we're way too grown for this s**t." The snippet was so short that it did not contain other lines from the lyrics of the track.
Aside from the release date and snippet, the "Say So" hitmaker unveiled the cover art of the soon-to-be-released song. The simple artwork features what appears to be curly hair in a beige color. It also includes a "PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT CONTENT" label.
After breaking the news about her new single, Doja received mixed online responses from Instagram users. In the comments section of the post, one in particular wrote, "Not right now girl beyonce just dropped," making a reference to Beyonce Knowles, who launched her country album "Cowboy Carter" earlier that day.
Commenting on the cover art, another assumed, "Why do I feel that's a close up pic of the top of her head," before gushing over Doja, "Like I just can't with her artistic expression [a smiling face with heart eyes emoji]. I LOVE HER!!!" Similarly, a third asked, "Is that your bush after you bleached it?"
In the meantime, a fourth publicly showed their support for Doja by writing, "Regardless of how many haters follow what you do remember there's ppl who really care about your work not your personal business so we'll always cheer you on. can't wait to see what you do and thank you for coming back when you didn't have to," adding a red and pink heart emoji.
