Darius was arrested on Thursday, February 1, for two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of a violation of the state's vehicle registration law.

AceShowbiz - Darius Rucker's ex-girlfriend was celebrating his run-in with the law. Kate Quigley, who used to date the country singer, shared a post about "karma" upon learning that he was arrested and booked on three misdemeanor charges in Williamson County, Tennesse.

"Yes. I've heard," the 42-year-old comedian wrote on X, formerly Twitter on Thursday, February 1. "All I can say is Karma."

In a second post on X, Kate was seemingly sticking her tongue out in a bikini photo. "Mood when u hear your d-bag ex got arrested. #Karma," she captioned the since-deleted image, according to Page Six.

Darius began dating Kate in 2020 after announcing his split from his then-wife Beth Leonard. They confirmed their romance in October 2020, and the last picture of the two together appeared on Instagram in May 2021.

In September of that year, Kate was hospitalized following a drug overdose. She allegedly used cocaine that was laced with fentanyl at a neighbor's party with friends Fuquan Johnson, Enrico Colangeli and Natalie Williamson. Fuquan, Enrico and Natalie died following the incident.

Updating Kate's condition, Darius shared at the time, "You know, she's doing great. She's coming out of that. I'm glad that she's doing that." He added, "My heart goes out to all the other victims, but [Kate] is doing OK."

As for Darius, he was taken into custody on Thursday. Following the arrest, the Hootie & the Blowfish frontman issued a statement to TMZ. "Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges," Darius' attorney Mark Puryear said.

The news outlet revealed that Darius was arrested for two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of a violation of the state's vehicle registration law.

It is not known what led to Darius' arrest, but police allegedly said the musician was driving with an expired registration tag. It was further said that the 57-year-old was released shortly after he posted the $10,500 bail.
