The 57-year-old Hootie and the Blowfish frontman was arrested and booked on three misdemeanor charges in Williamson County, Tennessee on Thursday, February 1.

AceShowbiz - Darius Rucker was reportedly arrested over multiple drug possession. A new report revealed that the Hootie & the Blowfish frontman was caught with marijuana and psychedelic pills before police arrested him.

TMZ stated that Darius was caught with the substances on February 19, 2023. He, however, only turned himself nearly a year later on February 2. According to the arrest affidavit, the singer was pulled over by Franklin, Tennessee because his registration tags appeared to be expired.

The cops claimed once they came to his car, they could smell marijuana. They later asked the "Only Wanna Be With You" singer if he had been smoking and he told them that had not, though he might have smoked the previous day.

That prompted the officers to search the car where they found what they suspected to be a THC pen along with 14 unmarked purple pills. Darius reportedly claimed that the drugs were given to him by his girlfriend, Summer. When an officer told Rucker that he would pat him down, he handed him a small marijuana blunt from his pocket.

The police later released Darius without charges as they would try to identify the 14 pills, which were later revealed to be Psilocin, a controlled substance similar to magic mushrooms. A warrant for his arrest was issued in December 2023.

"This case is still active and any documents related to the case are not public record at this time. However, we can confirm that Mr. Rucker was pulled over during a routine traffic stop," a spokesperson for the Franklin PD told The Post on Friday, February 2. "He was released at the scene and turned himself in yesterday which is routine procedure for this type of offense."

Prior report revealed that Darius was arrested Thursday and was charged with two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of a violation of the state's vehicle registration law. He was released after posting a $10,500 bail. "Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges," Darius' attorney Mark Puryear said at the time.
