AceShowbiz - Michael Strahan's absence on "Good Morning America" has been explained. In a new statement on Monday, November 6, an ABC spokesperson revealed that the host has been and will continue missing the morning talk show for another week due to "personal family matters."

"Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters," said the spokesperson, adding, "We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns." The statement didn't give more details about the matters.

Michael has not appeared on "Good Morning America" since the October 26 episode. Amid his absence, "Nightline" co-anchor Juju Chang and "World News Tonight" anchor Linsey Davis have taken over the former professional football player's duties, joining regular hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopolous.

The former Giants star also hasn't returned to his position as an analyst on "FOX NFL Sunday" for the last two weeks. FOX Sports commentator Curt Menefee addressed Michael's absence on Sunday, November 5, saying that he missed the show because he is "dealing with a personal family matter," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Additionally, a source told Page Six that Michael canceled his scheduled appearance on November 2 at a Harlem EatUp! dinner honoring Tamron Hall and D-Nice. At the event, hosted by the Harlem festival's co-founders Marcus Samuelsson and Herb Karlitz, he was set to join fellow guests Bevy Smith, Kevin Liles, CC Sabathia, chef JJ Johnson and more.

Fans also noticed that Michael's last social media post was on October 25. At the time, the dad of four promoted his game show, "The $100,000 Pyramid", that features Jordan Sparks and Jason Ritter as celebrity guests. The former "Live with Kelly and Michael" co-host shares Tanita, 31, and Michael Jr., 28, with his first wife Wanda Hutchins. He's also a father to 19-year-old twins Isabella and Sophia with his second wife, Jean Muggli.

Michael's representative declined to comment on his absences.
