AceShowbiz - Sabrina Carpenter has "appalled" a Catholic bishop after she filmed a music video for her song "Feather" at a century-old Brooklyn church. Slamming the pop star, Brooklyn Bishop Robert Brennan also decided to re-sanctify the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church with a mass of reparation.
In some pictures taken on Saturday morning, November 4, Brennan could be seen blessing the altar and the Blessed Virgin Mary church with holy water to "repair the damage caused" by the "Nonsense" hitmaker. "Through the offering of this Mass, Bishop Brennan has restored the sanctity of this church and repaired the harm," the Diocese of Brooklyn said in a statement.
The diocese also revealed that the parish's vicar Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, who allowed the singer to film a controversial music video in the church, has been removed from his position with Auxiliary Bishop Witold Mroziewski temporarily taking over the administrative duties. "The parish did not follow diocesan policy regarding the filming on Church property, which includes a review of the scenes and script," the statement read.
The parish previously claimed that the production team "failed to accurately represent the video content." However, an investigation revealed that the production company gave the parish documents that while it failed "to depict the entirety of the scenes," the docs "clearly portray inappropriate behavior unsuitable for a church sanctuary."
"Feather" was released on Tuesday, October 31. Its music video sees Sabrina donning a skimpy black dress, dancing seductively at the altar. The visuals additionally features several men killing each other over her with her attending their funerals at the church. They are put in candy-colored coffins, one of which has "RIP B***h" written on it. The video has garnered more than 6 million views on YouTube so far.
