Britney thought her family tried to 'kill' her when they threw her into a mental health facility and her younger sister refused to lend a hand when she reached out for help.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears has blasted her younger singer Jamie Lynn Spears for "capitalising" on her torment. The "Toxic" singer, 41, makes the accusation in her memoir "The Woman in Me", which is out on Tuesday, October 24, and says her 32-year-old sibling cashed on the pain she felt over her controversial 13-year conservatorship, which saw their dad take control of her life and multi-million dollar fortune.

"As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalising on it. She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous," Britney says in her upcoming book about Jamie publishing her autobiography "Things I Should Have Said" two months after the singer's conservatorship ended in November 2021.

The same day Jamie Lynn's book was released in January 2022, Britney sent her sister a cease-and-desist letter demanding she leave her out of her "ill-timed" press tour.

Britney also posted several scathing messages on social media about Jamie Lynn, who she has branded "scum" in the past. But Jamie Lynn has hit back at Britney's accusations and claimed she had gone "out of my way" to help the singer end her conservatorship.

Britney insists the opposite is true, and says in her highly-anticipated book she texted her sister for help after being placed in a mental health facility in 2018, only to meet resistance. According to Britney, Jamie Lynn replied, "Stop fighting it… there's nothing you can do about it, so stop fighting it."

Britney added, "This will sound crazy, but I'll say it again because it's the truth, I thought they were going to try to kill me. I didn't understand how Jamie Lynn and our father had developed such a good relationship. She knew I was reaching out to her for help and that she was dogging me. I felt like she should have taken my side."
