The 'Love Song' singer will be slipping into the shoes of Jenna Hunterson for the third time as she takes on the hit stage musical in January 2019 for a limited engagement.

AceShowbiz - Singer/actress Sara Bareilles will kick off the New Year back on Broadway for her third run in her hit musical "Waitress".

The "Love Song" hitmaker served as the composer and lyricist for the popular production, and now she is preparing to return to the New York stage again to take on the starring role as pie-baking server, Jenna Hunterson.

Sara will tread the boards for a limited engagement, beginning on January 7, 2019 and wrapping on February 3.

She will appear opposite "Hello, Dolly!" actor Gavin Creel as Dr. Pomatter, and the musician is thrilled to be donning her character's apron once more.

"We have three productions of Waitress running," she shared in a statement, referencing the Broadway, London, and touring shows, "and this is my third time in my beloved Jenna's shoes."

"I can't think of anything I would rather do to kick off this incredible milestone year than return to my favorite place on earth next to the one and only Gavin Creel."

Sara takes the role over from Stephanie Torns, who in turn is set to replace current lead, Nicolette Robinson, next week (begins December 10).

She made her Broadway debut as Jenna in the spring of 2017, and headed back to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre at the start of this year.

"Waitress", based on the 2007 film of the same name, launched in April, 2016, and in addition to earning Sara her first Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score, it also reportedly landed her a new love in former lead actor Joe Tippett.

The couple first stepped out together last year (2017), and the star previously made reference to Joe, without actually naming him, as she gushed about how her work in the show had completely changed her life.

"My life is so different because of Waitress," she told ABC News in May, 2017. "The people that I'm close to, the things I do professionally, my colleagues, my best friend and my boyfriend, like, all of these things have come to me because of the show. And it's really beautiful."

Meanwhile, since her last stint on the Broadway stage, Sara has gained a little more acting experience after taking on the role of Mary Magdalene in the "Jesus Christ Superstar Live!" in Concert TV special, alongside John Legend as the Messiah, in April (2018).
